day 28 & typical 17 month-old behavior

Things have been going well with Wesley. He still whines and cries at random times for no apparent reason (at least as far as we can tell), but he is getting more comfortable with us (and us with him). I appreciate all the posts and emails of encouragement from everyone - it helps us to know that his behavior is normal for his age. I know that he isn't sure exactly what is going on as he has never had this much attention placed solely on him by two adults!
-------
We're looking forward to going home next week to refresh. I hope that us going home next week does not set us back in our attachment with Wesley. We look forward to Wesley meeting our friends and family this fall. I know they are all going to love him like we do!
-------
Here is a picture of Damon with Wesley on his shoulders - I can post it since you cannot see Wesley's face, but you can see how blonde his hair is! I cannot wait to post pictures of our cute little guy after court!!

What a beautiful baby...at least from the back LOL! So glad you are getting into the routine with him...my kids still whine for no apparent reason and they are seven and almost fourteen...

LOVE the photo! So cute! Yep...absolutely normal. Maddie has been trying her hand at whining quite a bit lately for absolutely no reason too! :)

Yeah! I love the pic! If you remember my blog, I posted tons of pics that didn't show our son's face. Come on' bless us with some pics of his feet and hands. :)

What a great shot of Wesley and Damon. :) I'm glad things are going well. Sorry I've kinda been MIA, I'll try to find you online tomorrow or Tuesday. Maybe we can at least chat through IM.

I am so glad you found your little boy!! Ya, I know the "typical" behaviour can be a little overwhelming at times. Kyle still gives us his "typical" behaviour!! They are too fun though.

Hoping all goes well for court!!

Staci and Damon,

Bob and I are SO excited for you! Your photos are amazing (loved the ones in the earlier post of St. Michael's), and the back of your soon-to-be-official son's head is adorable.

We remember the pre-court days. Even when it's pretty much a sure-thing, it's still a major source of stress because you have devoted a huge part of your heart to the little guy and can't imagine life without him.

David is growing up too quickly. He too is in an assertiveness stage and can decide out of the blue that he is momentarily miserable. It passes quickly.

May this experience be a pleasant memory soon, as you start your lives as a family in Ohio.
