back in ICU, but doing better

Wes was moved back to ICU less than 8 hours after being sent to the floor. Long story short - the fluid on his lungs isn't permitting them to expand as they should, so he had to be put on a ventilator. This sounds bad, but it allows his incisions to heal and fluid to drain off. He has been resting comfortably since then, so we feel much safer with him in ICU than out on the floor.
-------
Please continue to pray for Wes and his recovery. I pray that this is just a small setback and he continues to improve each day. I will update when we know more. Damon and I are doing well - we are able to rest better with him here since we can see what great care he is receiving.

prayers being said for your little man! I've been told kiddos rebound from surgery faster than adults b/c they don't understand what is suppose/not suppose to hurt! My sister was sliding off chairs 4 days out of ICU after open heart surgery...staples and all...and happy as a clam!! :) Get well soon Wesley!

You guys are SAINTS! I stopped for a moment and thought of the terrible future this child would have had if you had not been sent to be his parents. God bless you and Wesley as you all heal through this part of life.

Saints?? Are you kidding me??? Felix - you and Heidi are more saints than we could ever hope to be!

It does break my heart to even imagine Wes going through this surgery alone in Ukraine! I don't even think about the first three months of his life being spent in the hospital alone...it's too much for me to stand.

Dearest Staci and Damon,

I have followed your blog but never posted before. I have to agree with your friends you are true SAINTS. I only wish this world had more people like you. May GOD bless you and your precious son. You are in our thoughts and prayers. With outmost respect,
