we have our son!!

We picked up Wesley from the orphanage today!! I cannot post any pictures because he is asleep in our room, and the camera cord is somewhere in there. I don't want to wake him up, as it took FOREVER to get him to sleep. Damon and I both laid down on the bed and put him in between us, but he just sat up and played with the pacifier and a blanket. He fell asleep as we were getting up.
-------
Feeding him has gone okay - it's a learning experience. I am just so worried about him getting enough food and water!! We think that we have his feeding schedule, but we cannot be entirely sure. He doesn't seem to mind the feedings as much as I thought he would.
-------
No word on the tax ID. Another family here will receive theirs after nine days waiting, but then they have to wait for the passport. I think I might even be more homesick than I was when we left a couple weeks ago!
-------
Please just pray for all three of us!! We are so worried about doing something wrong - you know, us being first-time parents and a child who cannot eat by mouth! Please also pray for a quick receipt of the tax ID number and the passport - we want to get home. We'll post pictures soon.
Love - Staci and Damon

Who-hoo! Don't worry, he will let you know what he wants...kids are pretty good at that!
Hurry home, we can hardly wait to meet him!

Staci and Damon,
Congrats on finally having your son with you! That alone must be a huge relief.

I've never dealt with a feeding tube, but I'm sure you will get more and more comfortable with it as each day goes by. He's such a lucky little guy to have you both as parents!

We've been praying and will continue to do so. Thanks for the updates that let us know how to best pray.

So happy for you guys having him finally. I can't imagen using a feeding tube, I would have no clue. Keep us posted and we love to see pictures. We will pray for you that you get all the documents you need quickly so you can get home to the US of A.

I remember those fisrt days!! Our little lady had not been exposed to men, so wasn't a big fan of Papa....so that made things interesting! She slep in the 'bed' (a pull-out couch) with us.
We waited a long time for our passport, but we were in Odessa region. Friends of ours in Kharkove region got their passports with ease!
Prayers are with you!

I can't wait to see pictures of your little guy! Congratulations! You will get the hang of the feeding tube and before you know it, you'll be experts! I hope your paperwork stuff goes by fast!

so very happy for you! Wesley is a sweetheart! His size reminds me so much of Delaina when we brought her home. She was so tiny. One thing I would suggest is to do prints of his hands and feet. I wish I had done this with D, she grew so fast after getting home it was hard to believe she was so tiny. I am sure Wesley will do the same. :) I know this is a very frustrating time for you all but try to enjoy these days. We were in UA 5 weeks (we had 4 children at home...waiting!)and I remember the longing to be home. Hang in there we are praying for you!

What great news! I am keeping my fingers crossed for you that things start to speed up so you can get HOME! I know that it is tough - and we have dealt with the homesickness too... (hopefully) all will be a blur when you get that little angel home where he belongs!

Take care!
Amy
