Again I attempt to post vacation day 2...I started this post before I got the idea of posting by email (so much for that idea), which is why the date is listed as Sunday. (Another note: apparently the date is listed as Monday on the actual posting, but for the record the preview listed the date as Sunday. I'm not losing it)
Happy Father’s Day! Since it was absolutely gorgeous here in Michigan, we decided to make a little trek to Mackinac Island. By “trek,” I mean take a ridiculously overpriced speed boat thing to the island. Thankfully Wes was free, but adults were $24 each!! We had to go though because it was the last day of the Lilac Festival. Too bad we only saw one bush in bloom…apparently they bloomed early this year :(

Waiting on the boat…Wesley was scared when we told him that he was going to go on a boat, but once he was on, he couldn’t get enough. As soon as we got off the boat, he started talking about when we were going to get back on. Each hour the boat horn sounds, and Wes said “that’s our boat.” I’m not sure if he thought we were going to miss it or just make sure we were paying attention.
I took this picture just as the spray from the boat went in front of our window. You can’t really see the houses on the island, I just thought it was a neat picture.
Wesley couldn’t stop staring at the Mackinaw Bridge and the boats going by.
Look at these amazing homes. I shudder to think how much something like this might cost, especially overlooking Lake Michigan and the Mackinaw Bridge!! I’m sure we couldn’t begin to afford a house nearly this nice even in the middle of Ohio.
This is actually an inn or a bed and breakfast. How wonderful would it be to wake up to the view of the water?
Another inn overlooking the lake and bridge.
A picture as we walked around the island.
Heading back to the mainland…
The boat wasn’t moving when Wesley stuck his head out the window, never fear! He was so excited to be on a boat again that he couldn’t stand it, so he decided to spend a little time inspecting everything.
This picture also makes me smile. How pretty is the sunset and how fun are two boys playing in the water?

Looks like you guys had a great time! Much better than our vacation, that's for sure! I have to say, I love that you took the pic with Wes crying. We did the same thing with Max. HAHAHA. :)
We love Lake Michigan too!
