Actually it's from Ohio to Ukraine, back to Ohio, then to China

not much to write about

I don't really have much to post about, but I thought I would just say hello. The Bengals game was chilly on Sunday, but at least it didn't snow!! The game against the Eagles ended in a tie, so at least it's not a loss!! They are tied with the Steelers right now, so I'm hoping for a win!

-------
It's been snowing here in Ohio. Driving home from work I had trouble seeing the road. I don't know that I am ready for winter just yet - I feel like I didn't get to enjoy the summer because we spent it in Ukraine! I have usually started my Christmas shopping by this point in the year, and I have only purchased three gifts (two of the gifts are for Wesley).
-------
I took Wesley to my Mom's book club yesterday. They followed our adoption journey through this blog and my Mom, and I was excited for them to meet Wes in person as I know they have seen tons of pictures and heard lots of stories. I know that Wesley had a good time - he likes flirting with ladies :) He was pretty well behaved, but he did end up trying to climb the wall (literally)!

-------
Wes is his Bengal pajamas for the game tonight
(he was actually in bed before it started)

Damon and I at the game (as you can see, I do not just post nice photos of myself!! I am happy to report that I have gotten my hair cut since this picture)

the Eagles #58 Trent Cole played football in high school with my brother, so I enjoy watching him play

Do you think Katie is spoiled or what?

I think Wesley is tired of me taking his picture...

I finally found a television show that Wes is interested in. It is called "Super Why" and is a cartoon about books. I think it is too advanced for him, but he only watches for a few minutes.

I've been trying to teach Wesley to smile when I take his picture. The smile is more of a grimace, but we're working on it. (He was trying to smile on command in the top picture as well)
34 days until Christmas

As an animal lover (especially dogs), I ask you to pray for our friends Juan, Mandy, Marisa and Mateo who recently lost their pug Walter. Walter was a wonderful dog, and he will be greatly missed!!

Hey we have a stray pit bull living in our back yard until we find him a home (actually he is sleeping at my feet as I type because hubby isn't home and doesn't know I have him in the house...) He is a sweetie but the local shelter won't accept them, the will put him down if we take him in...wanna drive to Seattle and get him? We only have rain here!

Ah, the smile picture is just too cute! William loves Super Why. He watches it at his grandmother's house after kindergarten, before Daddy picks him up.

We're total animal lovers, so I understand how tough this must be for your friends to lose Walter. I'll be thinking of them. We have a jack russell who was our "only child" for almost 9 years before William. She had her 10th birthday this week :) We have pics of her in front of the fireplace just like Katie. Oh, and my in-laws have 2 Bostons - one black & white, and one that is brown & white. They have SOOOO much energy!

Staci- Wesley is so cute and his smile is precious. YOu guys are doing a great job. Believe me, every night I feel like a failure when it comes to parenting but each day is a new day, and we need to rely on God's strength. Have you read Shepharding a Child's Heart? Very good. Also Creative discipline by Welchel (I think that is how you spell her name). Just some suggestions that Ihave found helpful with my bio children. Have a good week.

Staci, I'm so happy you made it over to our blog! I learned so much from reading yours, and it greatly influenced my decision to start our blog. I love the pic of Wes on the stairs. So serious and cute at the same time! And while I'm a self-confessed cat-lover, that pug was pretty cute, too.

Well, there are actually two shows that Wes likes. Yesterday I put on Curious George and he seemed intrigued...for a little while. Maybe it reminded him of a certain sock monkey?! Hmmmmmm.

Mom is right, Wes is interested in Curious George and also Clifford the Big Red Dog. Nothing keeps his attention for too long though!

My favorite is the picture of Katie! And I still imagine you in your old house when I read your blog. So seeing her in front of a fireplace was a little weird! :)
